HISTORY

In 2008, the Republic of Tatarstan jointly with the Islamic Development Bank held the first International Investment Conference in Kazan and began active work on the development of trade, investment and introduction to Islamic finance in Russia. In 2009, International Islamic Business and Finance Summit - KAZANSUMMIT 2009 was held for the first time. Summit laid the solid foundation for cooperation between Russia and the leading Muslim countries. On KAZANSUMMIT 2009, 2010 and 2011 platforms mutual investment, innovation, trade and education subjects were discussed. For three years KAZANSUMMIT had success in mutually beneficial projects in direct investment, as well as in discussion and development of joint solutions in introducing Islamic financial instruments.

MISSION of KAZANSUMMIT

To facilitate the promotion of economic and financial relationships between the participants of businesses based on Islamic principles.

OBJECTIVES of KAZANSUMMIT

• To identify strategic development prospects of international economic relationships between Russia and Muslim countries;
• To develop cooperation in the sphere of direct investments in private sectors of Russia and Muslim countries;
• To organize public discussions and development of recommendations on Islamic financial system operation.

Representatives of financial institutions, investors, businessmen, representatives of government authorities, scholars and academicians from Russia, CIS countries, OIC, Europe, Southeast Asia and Middle East countries.
